KC Check-In Highlights
Plant Personnel Check-Ins | March 13, 2026

We conducted employee check-ins across the Kansas City plant to gather direct feedback from plant personnel on training, communication, morale, equipment, and overall support. These conversations are intended to identify what is working well, reinforce strengths, and highlight areas where we can continue to improve operations and the employee experience.

What We Heard

Training & Support
Employees consistently identified experienced team members as their primary source of training and day-to-day guidance. Peer-to-peer learning is working well, though there is an opportunity to build more consistency in formal training and onboarding processes.

Communication
Communication was the most common theme across responses, including:

  • A need for clearer and more consistent communication between teams
  • Improved coordination across departments
  • Language barriers, particularly for Spanish-speaking employees

Morale & Recognition
Employees shared that morale would benefit from more consistent recognition of what is going well. Positive feedback and acknowledgment of good work were identified as meaningful opportunities to improve overall engagement.

Growth & Development
Several responses pointed to a desire for continued training and development opportunities, including clearer paths for skill growth and advancement.

Equipment & Operational Needs

Employees identified several equipment and support needs that would improve efficiency and safety:

  • Proper masks and face shields
  • A new forklift
  • A band saw for the steel shop

Overall Snapshot

Employee ratings were generally positive, with most scores falling in the high 7 to high 8 range. This reflects a strong operational foundation while also reinforcing opportunities to improve communication, strengthen training processes, and provide continued support.
